The "Radial/Axial Runout" CALIPRI C4X module replaces traditional radial runout measurement operations using dial gages and also makes it possible to evaluate the axial runout of a railway vehicle wheel in the same step. With the CALIPRI sensor, the user records the relative radial and axial movement of the wheel profile during one wheel rotation. After the measurement, the ovality, eccentricity and possible lateral runout of the wheel are evaluated on the tablet PC.

With CALIPRI, it is possible to quickly and easily carry out highly precise radial and axial runout measurements on railway vehicle wheels. Thanks to modern laser light section technology, mechanical attachment and time-consuming adjustments are no longer necessary. In addition to comparing measured values with the underlying limit values, the spectral display of the data enables more in-depth analyses, e.g. identifying polygonal wheel formation. Subsequently, the measurement results can be exported as a CSV file and fed into a wheel lathe, for example.
Calipri profile measuring systems are approved and used i.a. in Germany (DB), Austria (ÖBB), Switzerland (SBB), France (SNCF), China (Chengdu Railway Bureau) and the Czech Republic (SŽDC).
